Fix Our Schools, Don’t Close Them! I join with the NYC Coalition for Educational Justice and call on the DOE to immediately - Enact a moratorium on school closings and co-locations until there is an independent source of information on their impact- Establish a School Transformation Zone to improve low-performing schools that includes schools on the state’s list of 34 “persistently failing” schools to provide support and resources and prevent closings- Involve parents and other stakeholders in decision-making about the future of our schools
